Sponsoring a dog enables us to continue to provide a safe, warm environment for our dogs.

Some dogs are not rehomable, or are going through a lengthy rehabilitation programme with us. We are run entirely on donations and your sponsorship really helps us to provide food, vet care, flea and worm treatments, support with training, supply tasty treats, wash our dogs bedding and anything else that may be needed.

Some dogs are waiting in kennels for a foster placement which comes at a huge cost to us as a small rescue.

Moon

Moon is our giant goofball who is a permanent resident with High Hopes. He's 55kg of fluff and loveliness but he is scared of so many things that we don't think he will ever move forward to find a forever home.

Moon loves to play games, we have taught him how to press buttons for treats or to be brushed - which he absolutely LOVES!!

He is a very affectionate boy with the people he knows and trusts , he's always pawing us for more fuss and cuddles which we are more than happy to give. Moon is lots of fun, he loves to play with his friends and with us, he also loves a good session of ripping up his toys!!

Sponsorship will help us to continue to care for Moon for the rest of his life.

Dottie

Our lovely little sass queen Dottie (Dorothy) is currently in rehab with us. We spotted her with one of our rescuers in Romania heavily pregnant. She was due to be taken to the vet to be spayed whilst pregnant meaning her babies would all have died.

We couldn’t let this happen so far into her pregnancy so we begged to take her and her babies. Her pups have all been adopted but Dottie is currently too scared to be touched by humans. She’s come so far after spending the first 5 months with us completely shut down and wouldn’t even look at us.

Now she will follow her foster mummy around , she will come to us and occasionally take a treat. We will continue to work with Dottie at her pace until she is ready to find her family.

Your sponsorship will really help us to continue to care for Dottie.

Daisy

Daisy seems to be the dog that absolutely no one ever asks about. She was returned to us over 2 years ago and has spent the last 18 months in kennels that cost us £15 per day.

She started off back with us in a foster home but we could see how unhappy she was sharing her home with other dogs, so kennels has been the only option for Daisy sadly.

Daisy is an absolute sweetheart , she’s very loving and loyal but also extremely stubborn and needs an experienced owner.

The owners of the kennels would absolutely love to keep her but they have other dogs already which wouldn’t work for Daisy.

Your sponsorship will help us to keep Daisy safe and in kennels until someone finally falls in love with this beautiful girl.

Lacey

The very cheeky Lacey is in rehab with us. She came to us in December 2023 with her sister Lani.

Both girls were completely shut down and stood like statues, too scared to move. Lacey and Lani were rescued from one of Romania’s notorious public shelters. We don’t like to think about what happened to Lacey in there but we are teaching her to trust humans.

Lacey was more traumatised than her sister, she was spayed whilst she was pregnant in Romania which we think has had an impact on her.

Now, nearly 18 months later she has turned into the most wonderful girl. She LOVES to play , loves her friends . The next step for Lacey is getting her on the lead without panicking. We would imagine she has been caught with a catchpole which is why at the moment, the lead terrifies her.

Your sponsorship will really help us to continue to care for Lacey in a loving, safe environment.

Maddy

Poor Maddy has been with us for nearly 3 years. She has been returned twice and is currently in kennels as she prefers not to share a foster home with other dogs.

Maddy is a high energy and exuberant character who dreams of a home one day. Until we can find that for her she is in kennels costing £8 per day.

All we want for Maddy is to see her having lots of wonderful adventures that she is really missing out on. She deserves the world.

Your sponsorship will mean we can continue to keep Maddy safe in kennels

Toby

Aka Mr Bean/ Beans!! Toby came to us 3 years ago along with Penny. He was almost feral and we couldn’t get anywhere near him. It took a long time for Toby to let us touch him, he was always defensive and tried to protect himself with his teeth.

Slowly but surely we have won him round, Toby is a huge character who thinks hes bigger than he actually is!! He’s a very bossy boy who adores his larger friends. He loves playtime but can get a little over excited at times.

Toby’s biggest fear is the lead, we don’t think we have ever had a dog more terrified of the lead than Toby, every time we have tried he screams in fear and runs away. One day we will get there with him for for now he is safe, warm, loved and happy.

Your sponsorship will enable us to continue to work with Toby.

Ava

Our lovely but misunderstood girl Ava has been let down so many times by humans that she struggles to trust anyone new.

She originally went home as a pup was returned after a couple of years, since then she has been back and forth , adopted and returned twice more.

Ava is extremely loving with the people she knows and trusts but new people are a challenge for her. She’s currently in kennels costing £8 per day as she doesn’t like to share a home with other dogs.

Ava is safe , your sponsorship will enable her to continue to stay with us in kennels

Sally

We spotted Sally in Lancram public shelter in Romania. She had already been there for 8 months and she looked like she had given up on life.

It took us a further 3 months to get her out and on her way to us. She is still quite shut down and is scared of the other dogs in her foster home.

Sally is quite new to us but she will need to spend some time being rehabilitated before she can be rehomed.

Your sponsorship will help us to keep Sally safe and warm whilst she learns to trust us.

Lady

Lady, as you may guess is Lacey’s sister. We have also taken in three other siblings who have all gone home. Lady is the last on - we think!

Lady was living outdoors with a rescuer in Romania and although she hasn’t had the trauma of a public shelter she has most likely never been touched by humans and arrived terrified of us. She was living in a big field with other dogs and not enough food or water.

Its been an extremely slow process with Lady , she is much happier, she enjoys her foster friends and loves playing with toys, rope toys are her favourite. Lady is still not very trusting of us but we will continue to work with her and help her to feel safe.

Your sponsorship will mean that Lady will have a safe place to live whilst she learns that people aren’t so scary

Nils

Little Nils is our very own pocket rocket!! He started out with us absolutely terrified of people. He then learned to trust only his foster mummy but lately he is making lots of new human friends. He is ready for adoption now but we are looking for a special home for Nils as he is still shy.

Nils LOVES other dogs and is never short of friends to play with. His tail is always wagging and he is always happy. He’s a super cute little man who makes friends with people now by first showing them his bum for a scratch!!

He’s likes climbing up agility equipment, on and off tables. Anything to be higher up!!

Nils has been with us for a long time and your sponsorship will help us to continue to care for Nils until he finds his forever family.

Luna

Luna is a super special girl who has all of our volunteers wrapped around her paws. She’s such a happy dog who adores her High Hopes family almost as much as she loves belly rubs !! and cuddles of course!

When we go to the field Luna always sits up front as she’s such a good girl, she likes a good sing along on the way, we think Taylor Swift might be her favourite!

Luna has the best fun at the field, a lot of the time she’s just running around on her own with a toy and coming back to say hi to her carers occasionally. She sometimes plays with other dogs but Luna is just happy entertaining herself.

She’s a shy girl and takes a little while to get to know new people and other dogs.

We continue to work with Luna to help her lead reactivity and we hope that one day someone will come along and fall in love with her who can see her for how wonderful she is.

Your sponsorship will help us to continue to care for Luna whilst she is waiting for her family,

George

Gorgeous George is such a gentleman. He is the kindest boy and he always welcomes new dogs in and helps them to settle in.

He is, and always will be a shy boy who is happiest around dogs, he does like to be stroked now by people he knows well but a lot of the time he is quite aloof and doing his own thing. He’s happy and that’s enough for us.

George is a bit of an escape artist so we have to make sure he is secure at all times!! We think his shyness and the fact that he can escape has made finding him the perfect home quite a challenge as he’s been with us for 3 years.

George is a really finicky eater and we have to try new things often to keep his interest in eating. He sometimes likes raw, sometimes dog pate, sometimes wet food and biscuits, we add food toppers or a bit of meat. He just likes to keep his options open!!!

Your sponsorship will help us to provide and care (and dinners!!) for George until he finds his forever home.

Shandy

Our beautiful princess Shandy has been with us since November 2020. The day she arrived is etched in our memory as she was probably the most terrified and panicked dog we have ever collected from transport.

It was a painfully slow process waiting for Shandy to accept people as her friend. It took us two years for her to allow us to stroke her. She always stayed close to us and was interested in whatever we were doing but we just couldn’t make her understand we weren’t going to hurt her.

Fast forward two more years and we finally have the most wonderful girl who has grown in confidence so much. She even jumps up new people sometimes. She’s always first up for cuddles and snacks. We have been on a wonderful journey with Shandy and we all adore her.

Shandy loves toys, she especially likes chasing a ball but never brings it back!! She is good with every dog she meets and she’s always chatting to us and telling us a story!!

You’re sponsorship will allow us to continue to care for Shandy for however long it takes for her to find her family.

Penny

Our wonderful smiley girl Penny was found in a public shelter along with Toby in Romania in 2021 . When the rescuer went back to get her out after we agreed to help them she was found with both front legs badly broken. We don’t even want to think about how that happened to her but she’s now safe, happy and very loved by all of our volunteers.

She had both front legs plated and eventually came to us when she had recovered from the surgery. She was absolutely traumatised and couldn’t even look at humans. She just wanted to run and hide herself away.

She slowly accepted a few people and we were able to check her legs where we found one of her plates to be sticking out through the skin. At this point she was still not able to be handled easily and we worried that she wouldn’t cope with more surgery. But our vets were brilliant with her and after 6 weeks of total crate rest she was finally able to walk again.

Penny learned to trust us and has been through a long rehabilitation process, she has grown into the most amazing, super happy and resilient dog and we are in awe of what she’s been through and the dog she is today.

Penny loves people, she knows they bring snacks and lots of cuddles, her favourite thing to do is to give you her paw…over and over again!! She is always first in line when its grooming time and would spend hours being brushed.

We do have to be careful with the amount of exercise Penny has each day as her legs do become sore, we also have to keep a careful eye on her weight as this also impacts her legs.

Penny struggles to find a home we think because of her legs and the fact she will almost certainly have further problems with them. She has a home with us for as long as it takes for her family to come along and your sponsorship will help us with Penny’s long term care.

Gus

Our giant, fluffy shepherd boy has had the worst luck finding a forever home. He’s been back and forth to us 3 times and had to spend some time in kennels so he is confused after spending his entire puppyhood in different environments.

Gus came to us as a 4 month old pup back in March 2024 along with his 9 siblings and mum. He was one of the largest pups and was last to find a home. In Gus’s world he is just a large excitable puppy who doesn’t know his own strength and size. He loves to play but can get a bit over the top sometimes.

He’s an absolutely beautiful boy and all of our volunteers are just in love with him. He’s been lucky enough to find a very experienced foster home where he is receiving the training and help that he desperately needed to help him move on to a forever home one day.

Your sponsorship will help us to provide care for Gus so he can continue his training.

Luna (chow)

We have so many photo’s of our lovely Luna it was hard to pick which ones to share!!! She is a bundle of fluff and personality!! She makes us laugh every single day and we can’t understand why she hasn’t found her family.

Luna originally came to us in January 2023 , she was adopted after a short stay in a foster home but was sadly returned in December of the same year. Her rescuer in Romania spent months tracking Luna, leaving food and trying to make friends with her before she was finally safe , she had not long had pups when she was rescued.

When Luna came back to us she needed extensive rehabilitation and we took our time with her but we have been rewarded greatly in seeing how absolutely wonderful she is. She is always happy, exuberant and she is just so funny!! She really enjoys making people laugh with her cheekiness.

She loves her human friends and having cuddles, she is always excited to meet other canine friends but we have to choose her playmates carefully as she likes to play rough!!

Luna likes to play football, she’ll play tuggy and she likes a good dig.

Your sponsorship will help us to continue to look after Luna until she finds her forever home.

Digby

Digby is a large Romanian shepherd who went home originally as a pup and was returned as an adolescent with a range of behaviours that needed some work. We managed to find Digby a space in a rehab facility where he has been for 18 months so far.

This has obviously cost a lot of money and as a small rescue , at times its been a struggle to pay for his space but we want what’s best for this gorgeous big lad and we do all we can to keep him in his placement.

Digby is an overgrown puppy who has no idea that he’s as big as he is!! He’s a real goofball who was under socialised and needed a lot of work.

He is now doing so well that the facility use him as a stooge dog to help other dogs in their care.

One day we hope he will find his people but for now your sponsorship will help us to keep Digby is his placement.

Caleb

Caleb is extremely lucky to be alive today after his owner took him to the vet to be put to sleep one day. The vet checked his chip and realised he had originally been adopted through us and asked if we gave permission for him to be euthanised.

Of course we said no!! He is a lovely boy who has been adopted twice by the same owner through different rescues. His original owner came back to us desperate to have him back, and we thought that was his happy ever after until we received that phone call. We jumped into action and he is now safely back with us and in kennels.

Caleb is a big strong lad who loves people. He’s friendly, goofy and silly and playful. He doesn’t understand what he did wrong and neither do we. Being a larger male he will take a while to find his family but one day we will find it for him. He deserves the world.

Your sponsorship will enable us to continue to provide safety and a kennel space for Caleb

Cariad

Cariad has also been very unlucky in life and has been returned to us three times. She came to us originally as a 4 month old pup from a huge shelter in Romania, and was hand shy when she arrived.

After a little bit of encouragement Cariad made friends with us and was the sweetest pup. None of her homes have worked out for Cariad which is absolutely devastating for her and for us.

Cariad remains that silly, playful pup that we made friends with all those months ago. She just doesn’t realise she’s big now!! She LOVES to play with other dogs , playing chase is her favourite. She also enjoys rough and tumble play and running. She has so much energy its a job to keep up with her!

She is such a beautiful girl with the most stunning eyes, one day we hope her forever family will come along but for now Cariad is safe in a foster home and your sponsorship will help us to continue to provide everything that Cariad needs

Duffy

Pretty girl Duffy came to us back in 2020 as a young adult. She was quickly adopted and spent nearly 4 years in her home before she was sadly returned to us. She had a short stay in kennels which she hated before we had a foster home available to her.

Duffy loves her human friends a lot, and when she’s your friend , she’s your friend for life. She’s full of love and cuddles. She really enjoys playing with her toys and she also likes sneaking up on you and running off again!!

She is exceptionally good at recall and obedience. Duffy just wants to please her people. She is anxious when she meets new people especially when she’s on the lead, she would much rather meet people at her own pace using as much space as she needs to feel comfortable.

Duffy hasn’t had much luck finding a new home yet, she has been back with us for a year come June 2025. We are so desperate to see her back with a family.

Your sponsorship will help us to look after Duffy until she finds her happy ever after
