We’ve posted Luna Chow thousands of times…. We don’t feel she needs an introduction…. You all know the Diva! But she does need a forever home! Luna Chow is dog number 11!

Luna was returned to us 2 years ago. Since that day, no one has applied or even asked to meet her.

Luna arrived at High Hopes with her pups — who quickly found homes. She settled beautifully in foster, then was adopted. Sadly, after 9 months she was returned. We never share this part to place blame — only to give the full picture of Luna’s story. In her first home she showed signs of anxiety, and a trainer’s report suggested she may struggle with touch.

When she came back to us, we took things slow. Hands-off, letting her come to us when ready. And slowly, trust blossomed. Her breakthrough moment? A hairbrush!

Over 4–5 months we saw Luna transform — thanks to patience, trust. Rehabilitation isn’t linear, but Luna reminds us why we always put dogs’ needs first.

There’s no denying it… Luna is stunning. She is the kind of dog that everyone wants to stop and say hello too. From the very beginning, we’ve worked carefully with Luna to make sure she always felt safe, respected, and able to trust in her own time.

Our volunteers have been incredible at listening to our instructions, letting Luna come to them when she was ready, waiting for her “yes” before giving affection, and always giving her the choice to step away. With this advice, she’s built a circle of friends who adore her and she adores them just as much (honestly, she’s more popular than we are )

Here’s the magic about Luna….once she’s chosen you as part of her pack, it’s forever. She doesn’t forget her people, and she loves with her whole heart. New friends still need to earn her trust, but she’s learned that most bring snacks—which makes her a little quicker to warm up

She’s happy spending time 1:1, but equally content in a group, as long as her friendship initiation has been followed. Becoming part of Luna’s pack is something special and it’s truly worth every second it takes to get there.

After her assessment period post return, learning to trust and making lots of new friends, Luna was ready to show us who she really was underneath that floof!!!

She’s such a funny, cheeky girl who’s very exuberant in nature. She loves to sit on your lap and has no idea of personal space (ironic given the need for her own!!)! She’s very loving and lives for belly rubs. She is a playful girl but her play style is body barging and wrestling!! After a busy day playing, Luna settles down for a nap, we have heard her snoring(!) and really enjoys her beauty sleep!

She’s one of the happiest dogs we have ever had, she likes chasing her tail, digging and running in the secure field with great animation!! She is quite strong willed, cheeky and the word no seems to make her even more cheeky.

….and this is the Luna Chow we know and adore! The floofiest, cheekiest, silliest dog…. If you want a furry sass pants…. Look no further than Chow!!

We feel Luna may be better suited to living as an only dog or with a confident laid back dog who matches her play style.

Luna can be strong on the lead, she’s always excited to go out, explore and keen to get going. As much as she loves her walks she is also quite lazy and tires herself out quickly!!!

She loves playing with toys, zooming around with her foster friends and getting as muddy as possible, followed by tummy rubs! She is a funny girl and constantly makes us laugh with her silly moments.

Luna has masses of cuddles and love to give, she just wants someone to give it to who can respect and listen to her boundaries. She now has lots of friends to do that with but she has to share them and would love her very own humans who are happy to be loved by her. A chow/ large guarding breed experienced home would best suit Luna.

Luna is 4 years old now and based in foster in Worcestershire and will need a few meetings for potential adopters to pass her initiation

1170 days…. That’s how long Luna has waited for her life to start. The first day we saw her.
